Diesel exhaust fluid is injected into the exhaust stream ahead of the selective catalytic reduction catalyst, where it breaks down and converts nitrogen oxides into nitrogen and water vapor. Running the tank empty is not optional on these trucks. The engine controller will derate power and eventually prevent a restart, so keeping a jug on hand is cheap insurance.

Fluid Specifications:

• For selective catalytic reduction systems on select Jeep and Ram diesel applications.
• Converts nitrogen oxides in the exhaust into nitrogen and water vapor.
• Supplied ready to use as a urea and deionized water solution. Do not dilute.
• 2.5 gallon container with a pour spout.
• Genuine Mopar fluid. Store out of direct sunlight and above freezing.
