STAGE 3 - For serious street-strip and race applications such as circle/oval track and NHRA Stock and Super Stock classes. Fully modified Quadrajet with oversized .149 needle and seat assembly. Main well size is increased and balanced to assure proper top end, high RPM fuel flow. Extensive circuit modifications are performed to keep the fuel curve correct throughout the RPM range, clean idle quality, and instant off the line response.

The Quadrajet, with its classic spread-bore design, was first introduced by Rochester for the Chevy 396 engine way back in 1965. The smaller primaries of the Quadrajet were designed for enhanced fuel economy and seamless drivability in traffic, with solenoid-controlled metering rods to help manage air/fuel ratio and big secondaries for when you need power. The Quadrajet remained almost unchanged until it was discontinued in 1990. Now, JET offers Quadrajets with some significant enhancements for performance, reliability and drivability.

Quadrajet carburetors from JET are available with three levels of upgrades, depending on your needs. Stage 1 carburetors are disassembled, cleaned, inspected and rebuilt to factory spec, with proper sizing, new float, choke pull-off and bronze bushed throttle shafts. They are then checked for proper sizing and calibration with new primary and secondary metering rods. Stage 2 carburetors have all the features of Stage 1, with recalibrated idle, off idle, main, accelerator pump and high speed circuits for enhanced torque and horsepower with quicker throttle response. Stage 3 carburetors are recommended for competition such as circle track and NHRA Stock and Super Stock classes. They include an oversize .149 needle/seat assembly, with circuit modifications for the correct fuel curve through the whole RPM range, improved idle quality, quick response off the line and the increased well size helps with top end and fuel flow.
