JEGS Head Bolt Washers are machined from 4130 chromemoly steel, heat treated for durability and black oxide coated. Double disc ground to insure parallel surfaces for accurate torque readings and minimize the chance of galling your expensive cylinder heads with the bolt head. Features a chamfered side for the large radii from the shank to underside of the bolt head. Fits 7/16" head bolts common to Small Block/Big Block Chevy and Small Block Ford 289-302/5.0L. Made in the USA.
Note: an edge may need to be trimmed (or clipped) for use with large diameter valve springs.
Premium Head Bolt Kits for a Performance Upgrade
JEGS Premium head bolts are available with a reduced hex size (1/2" compared to stock 5/8") with a wide area head flange that eliminates valve train removal to aid in re-torquing of the cylinder heads. All High Performance Series bolts are 170,000 psi chromoly alloy steel, which is approximately 15% stronger than Grade 8. Each bolt is then finished with the distinctive JEGS J-Crown. Kits come complete with hardened double disc ground and chamfered 4130 heat-treated steel washers (also available separately). Head bolts and washers are coated with black oxide for durability. Bolts sold in complete engine sets.
