This issue can result in not having enough vacuum for the brake booster to function at full potential. When in use, the reserve tank builds a vacuum while driving, when the most is being produced. As you slow down, the one-way valve stops the flow and retains the vacuum in the tank that is then used by the booster when applying the brakes.
