Borgeson has designed an all aluminum OEM replacement intermediate steering shaft assembly for the 1979-04 Mustangs. These assemblies give tight handling and great positive feel while reducing the overall weight by 8 pounds! By eliminating the factory ''rag joint'', additional header clearance is gained. The precision needle bearing u-joints give a great positive feel to the steering with no backlash or radial play. These intermediate steering shafts are also available with a vibration reducer/u-joint combination upgrade. Borgeson has developed vibration reducers to diminish the annoying vibrations that are transmitted through the steering system and felt in the steering wheel. The use of the Borgeson vibration reducer results in an immediate improvement of the steering feel. As an added benefit, this reduction in vibration has been shown to increase the overall life of the steering components, including the rack and pinion.
